Hi there!

I’m Maria.

I know what it’s like when us starts to feel like you or me. When the love is still there, but the connection is gone. When parenting small children leaves you running on empty, and the person you love most starts to feel like a stranger.

ThisVillage was born from that place. I was an expat mum in Berlin, trying to hold everything together. The invisible load of motherhood was crushing me. I was always on alert, always needed, and completely lost in the process. And I didn’t even realise it at first. I started longing for the kind of support women used to have — a village that held you when you couldn’t hold yourself.

Then my own relationship broke. My parents’ divorce had been my model for love, and I was repeating the same story. We were stuck in blame and miscommunication until it all fell apart.

What changed everything was learning that relationships don’t fall apart because of lack of love. They fall apart because we were never taught how to stay connected when life gets hard.

That’s when ThisVillage changed too. Because our children don’t just need mothers who survive — they need families who know how to love well.

Now I help:

  • Mothers find themselves again after losing their footing

  • Couples reconnect when parenting pulls them apart

  • Families build emotional awareness into everyday life

  • Children grow up seeing what healthy love looks like

The old ways don’t work anymore. We’re building something new — relationships built on awareness, not autopilot. Where love is a daily choice, not just a feeling.

Your family’s way of connecting is your legacy. Let’s make it one worth living.

Certifications

  • I help parents and expat mothers reconnect with themselves and find clarity in the middle of life’s transitions. Through gentle guidance and reflective conversations, I support them in creating balance, confidence, and a sense of direction that feels true to who they are.

  • I work with couples to rebuild trust and strengthen their emotional bond, especially during the early years of parenting. Together, we explore patterns, uncover needs, and create new ways of relating that bring more harmony and understanding into daily life.

  • Using the Gottman Method, I help couples identify what’s working and what’s not in their relationship. Through practical, research-based tools, we focus on rebuilding closeness, managing conflict constructively, and nurturing a partnership that feels supportive and lasting.

  • I guide new parents through the emotional and practical changes that come with welcoming a baby. This work helps couples stay connected as a team, manage stress, and create a nurturing environment where both parents and children can thrive.

  • I help expat mothers and families focus on what’s going well, build resilience, and find joy in everyday moments. Together, we create simple, evidence-based habits that support emotional well-being and a positive family atmosphere.

  • I use NLP techniques to help clients shift unhelpful thought patterns, release self-doubt, and build confidence in new environments. This approach is especially powerful for expat mothers adjusting to change and seeking a stronger sense of identity and belonging.

  • I create safe, uplifting spaces where people can recognise their achievements and speak about them with pride. These workshops encourage self-awareness, confidence, and authentic expression, helping participants embrace their worth and celebrate their unique stories in both personal and professional settings.
